No Cranberries at Zacatecas

March 8, 2013  |  2 Comments  |  by Luc  |  Dolores O'Riordan, The Cranberries

Zacatecas Festival seemed to have announced their 2013 line-up prematurely last month: there never was an agreement for a show between The Cranberries and the festival. We can only assume that the rest of the rumors about Dolores are also unfounded.

About the rumors…

March 6, 2013  |  2 Comments  |  by Luc  |  Dolores O'Riordan, The Cranberries

Rumors  have been spreading around about Dolores health for a few days now, since Zacatecas Festival canceled The Cranberries gig originally scheduled for March 25th.

Our fansite has chosen not to contribute to the rumors and not to put a name on whatever possible reason the gig was cancelled.  Remember that the band has not announced anything about this, so we can only presume that these are speculations. We would also like to point out that some statements by the Zacatecas representatives include some inaccurate information about Dolores’ previous health condition. The only known health problem that Dolores suffered from over the last few years was some vocal cord nodules.

The current rumor could be a simple misunderstanding.

Whether or not Dolores is afflicted by a health problem, we feel that she should be the one announcing it publicly if she wants to, not some concert promoter. We feel that the last days’ statements were inappropriate.

BREAKING NEWS: Zacatecas festival cancels Cranberries gig

March 4, 2013  |  5 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

The Zacatecas festival announced that The Cranberries will not attend their festival according to DireccionesZac. The band had not confirmed its presence to this festival nor decline it on their official website.

Last week, the Zacatecas festival included The Cranberries on their official program.

Let’s hope that everything is alright with the band and that their silence is only due to some [well-deserve] time off, even though everyone misses them already.

Thanks to Cranberries Mexico for the news.

Windmill master tapes might be Universal-Island’s property

March 2, 2013  |  1 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

Master tapes recorded at the Windmill Lane Studios might be Universal and Island’s record property, as the record label probably paid for the recording sessions back then.

Tony Perrey from Windmill Lane Studios was interviewed today on RTE radio and explained that in many cases, records labels have the rights on these master tapes. No words on The Cranberries in this interview though…

You can listen to the interview HERE.

20 years ago: Everybody else was doing it… and so did they!

March 2, 2013  |  Comments Off on 20 years ago: Everybody else was doing it… and so did they!  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

The Cranberries’ debut album turns 20 this week-end… and sounds as fresh as if it was recorded yesterday! Released on March 1, 1993 in Europe and March 2nd in North America, “Everybody Else Is Doing  It, So Why Can’t We?” was recorded at the mythical Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, Ireland

Last Thursday, we learned that the mater tapes of this album, which could include possible outtakes and unreleased tracks, are facing destruction as Windmill Lane Studios appealed to musicians who have worked there to collect them before next May or else they’ll be destroyed.

The Cranberries began the recording of their first album in January 1992 with Pearse Gilmore who previously worked with them on their Xeric label material. However, the band was not happy with the results and the work was scrapped. “Unhappy with the results – Gilmore had cluttered the mixes with dance beats and industrial-style guitar – and barely on speaking term with each other, the band scrapped the tracks and fired Gilmore” (Rolling Stone Magazine, March 23, 1995, page 60). After hiring a new manager, the band started working again on the album, this time with producer Stephen Street.

Everybody Else… peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200 and stayed on this chart for 130 weeks (more than 2 years!). After a rough start in the UK, the album reached #1 of Album Charts and stayed in chart for 86 weeks. The album sold almost 8 millions copies worldwide, making it the second best selling Cranberries album after “No Need To Argue”.

The album was reissued in 2002 with its singles’ b-sides as bonus tracks.
Check out our Everybody Else… album page for more details about this record.

Also, two nice recent reviews of the album, one written last year and the other just a few days ago. They look back at the album which became a 90’s classic:

The Cranberries master tapes face destruction

February 28, 2013  |  4 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

Time is actually ticking out!!
Legendary Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin has issued an appeal to musicians who have worked there to collect their master tapes, among them some of The Cranberries recordings, or else they’ll be destroyed.

Some of the old tapes, including work by The Cranberries, on display at Windmill Lane Studios

“We’re appealing to any artists who’ve worked here using two-inch multitrack tapes to come in and reclaim them because we’re in the process of disposing of these tapes” Ian Brady of Pulse told RTÉ Ten. Windmill is now owned by Pulse Recording College.

The Cranberries recorded “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?“, “To The Faithful Departed“, “Wake Up and Smell The Coffee” and part of “Bury The Hatchet” at Windmill Lane studios. Who said everything?

Many of the tapes are either demos, master tape back-ups or discarded takes. Windmill Lane Studios will start to destroy the unclaimed tapes on May 7th.

Let’s hope that the band sees this and reclaims their tapes to save them for posterity! Wouldn’t it be nice to have some alternate takes or unreleased tracks just in time to celebrate “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?” 20th anniversary this year?

The Cranberries mentioned on “Family Guy” cartoon series

February 12, 2013  |  1 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

In this quiet period of time in Cranberries-land, here’s a fun tidbit of information: The Cranberries were briefly mentioned on last Sunday’s episode of hit cartoon series “Family Guy”.

The Cranberries were mentioned among tons of other bands as being part of the soundtrack of a fake Valentine’s Day movie staring the cast of Family Guy. But don’t look forward to hear The Cranberries on any Family Guy soundtrack as this was just a joke, Family-Guy style!

There is no word about a launch date or if a new side project is on its way.

One-year anniversary contest (update #2)

January 28, 2013  |  Comments Off on One-year anniversary contest (update #2)  |  by Camille  |  Other News

Last update about our one-year anniversary contest:
First, we’d like to thank all those who participated, you were more than expected!!

The answer to the question was of course “Ode To My Family”, which most of you got right, although many got confused with “Roses”, a song Dolores dedicated to her father. One of you also answered “No Need To Argue”, a 1994 song which is very likely to be written about Dolores’ relationship with first boyfriend Mike Mahoney (although it has never been confirmed by any of the band members).

Click here to read the interview excerpt we posted in November in which Dolores explains she can’t sing “Ode To My Family” anymore because the song reminds her too much of her father.

Anyway, congratulations to our 10 winners. Note that one of them decided to let someone else have his poster which had us drawing an 11th name by lot.

“Fire & Soul” is the third single… in Russia

January 27, 2013  |  2 Comments  |  by Jury  |  The Cranberries

It looks like some of the local labels distributing The Cranberries’ new album didn’t give up on a promotion of “Roses” in some regions. Ten months after the album release, “Fire & Soul” becomes the third promo single in Russia.
According to TopHitRu.com (a website that officially provides new promo singles for Russian radio stations and aggregates an information about the rotation of every single on Russian radios), “Fire & Soul” was made available for broadcasting on Russian radio stations on December 5, 2012. Since then it was played on 32 stations (for example, “Tomorow” was played on 44 stations). Full statistics of the track’s rotation is available here. (link no longer available)

Two previous promo singles from “Roses” released in Russia (Tomorrow and Show Me) were aimed for the rock radio stations, but never got much attention. Unlike them, “Fire & Soul” is aimed for the radios playing in CHR format (Contemporary Hit Radio) which means that, maybe, the local distributor is trying to showcase a different side of The Cranberries’ talent.

“Roses” is distributed by Soyuz Music in Russia. The album peaked at #24 on the Russian charts.

“Fire & Soul” joins other songs from “Roses” released as promo singles in different regions. Last spring “Raining In My Heart” was chosen as the second single in Italy and Ireland (and maybe other countries?) and “Waiting In Walthamstow” was released as promo single in the United Kingdom last summer. “Show Me” also got some airplay in the United States, Greece, Poland and Russia. And, of course, “Tomorrow” was the first official single released in many countries all over the world.

If you’ve heard The Cranberries’ songs from “Roses” in your country, let us know in the comments!

The official community closed again (?)

January 25, 2013  |  4 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

The Cranberries official community is not accessible since yesterday.
Technical problem or second shut down in less than a year?

The community website first closed last June after the band went on a summer break due to Dolores health problems. The site was put back online in September, few weeks before the band’s European tour. It is unknown if this accessibility problem is due to the a technical problem or if the band decided to shut down the site once again. The community did not seem to recover from the first shut down as few people joined the discussion forum since September. Is this the end, time will tell…

Thanks to Javi for the info.

Cranberries World’s one-year anniversary!

January 14, 2013  |  2 Comments  |  by Camille  |  Other News

Dear ‘Berries fans,
Cranberries World is one year old!
We’re quite happy on how things have been going so far and are determined to go on like this.

To celebrate, we thought we could launch a small contest to give away a couple of unused posters we managed to get on the last Cranberries tour (Thanks to Anne).

So if you’re interested in winning a large 120×80 centimeters (about 47×32 inches) poster of the concert in Beauvais, just email us the answer to the following question to contest[at]cranberriesworld[dot]com before January 20th:

Which song Dolores did not feel like singing on the European leg of the Roses tour due to the recent death of her father?

We’ll then draw lots to determine the winners who we’ll contact by email.

Beauvais 2012 – Poster to win (sorry for the bad quality pic!)

Now to leave you with a funny news on this special day, we recently discovered on YouTube an unusual video of The Cranberries gig in Caen (France) which was filmed in 3D by a member of the audience. One song only. Some of us tried to watch it with “anaglyph” glasses (simple red and cyan ones), and it worked!
We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.

Thank you for your support during this first year, we are truly grateful.
Cranberriesly Yours,

Unreleased Mono Band “Track 29” revealed

January 3, 2013  |  2 Comments  |  by Luc  |  Mono Band

A never-heard-before Mono Band song entitled “Track 29 (demo edit)” was posted today on SoundCloud by the man himself, Noel Hogan.

“Track 29”, a collaboration with vocalist Richard Walters, was most likely recorded in the period of time between the first Mono Band album and the Arkitekt project.

Other songs posted today on Noel Hogan’s SoundCloud include “Army of Mice” (2005), “Track 26” (2006) and “Pacing (acoustic version)” (2009), all recorded with Richard Walters. The first two tracks were briefly posted on Mono Band’s MySpace page in the mid-2000’s while  the latter was released on Arkitekt’s “14 Days” single.

Thanks to Noel for this lovely New Year’s surprise!

And now here’s the last present we have for you in our hood: Dolores’ last Christmas Concert performance in 2006. That year, the concert took place in Monte-Carlo as the Pope Benedict XVI cancelled the traditional concert in Vatican. At this show Dolores performed “Angel Fire”, one of her solo song, in an orchestral version and two Christmas songs, “Away In A Manger” and “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”, that she already sang in 2002.

The Christmas Special continues… Let’s go on with the 3rd participation of Dolores to the Christmas Concert in Vatican in 2005. Just like in 2002 Dolores performed “Linger” and “Adeste Fideles” but this time in a new orchestral version for the first one and as a duet with Gianluca Terranova for the second. To end the show she sang “White Christmas” with all the other artists who participated to the show.

Now, the 10th edition of the Christmas Concert in 2002.
Before the show Dolores met the Pope John Paul II: here’s a short interview (link no longer available) from current.com where she tells about it.

At this show Dolores sang an orchestral version of “Linger” and two Christmas songs, “Adeste Fideles” and “Happy X-Mas (War Is Over)”, the latter with various artists.

As announced earlier this week, today we’re celebrating “Christmas before time”.
There will be updates on CW with Dolores’ performances at the Christmas Concerts from 2001 to 2006.

Let’s start with the 9th edition of those “Concerto di Natale”, it was in 2001 in Vatican and it was Dolores’ very first participation to such concerts. She performed 4 songs: An orchestral version of “Analyse” and 3 Christmas classics, “Little Drummer Boy“(with Westlife), “Panis Angelicus” and “Silent Night‘ (with various artists).

“South Dakota” OST to be released next year

December 21, 2012  |  Comments Off on “South Dakota” OST to be released next year  |  by Luc  |  Dolores O'Riordan

Film director Bruce Isacson confirmed that a soundtrack from the movie “South Dakota” will be released in 2013 and all 4 songs from Dolores O’ Riordan will be included.
This means the original versions of “Apple Of My Eye” and “Stupid” along with new solo versions of “Dreams” and “Empty”.

Bruce Isacson explains:

Dolores went back into the studio and recorded a new version of “Dreams” and “Empty”.  We feel the new recordings have more passion than the original, that comes from her maturity and greater experience since the original recording

As for the musical score segment that Dolores contributed, it does not have a proper title, although it is referred as the “Subway Scene”.

“South Dakota” THE MOVIE to be released with new music from Dolores

December 20, 2012  |  Comments Off on “South Dakota” THE MOVIE to be released with new music from Dolores  |  by Luc  |  Dolores O'Riordan

“South Dakota”, a docufiction movie about teenage pregnancy and abortion, will finally see a national release in the USA in October 2013… with some new music from Dolores!

Filmmaker Bruce Isacson confirmed to Cranberries World that 4 songs by Dolores will be featured in the movie: original versions of “Stupid” and “Apple Of My Eye” and brand new versions of The Cranberries’ “Empty” and “Dreams”, for which Dolores went back into studio to record them.

Dolores also contributed to the movie score told Isacson:

Dolores scored one of our sequences in the film, and she is credited as one of the film’s composers. Dolores and her husband Don Burton have been extremely supportive of our important film!  I am so thankful for their continued encouragement.

The “South Dakota” movie project was first announced in 2009. The movie portrays two dramatic stories about unplanned pregnancies along with sound bites of passionate pro choice and pro life advocates. Film director explains:

I found that so many of the women, when they go into this crisis of an unwanted pregnancy, they don’t have enough information so they can arrive at an intelligent decision or what course of action to take. And that’s why I made the film. You know, I stayed neutral. I didn’t want to manipulate my audience with my own point of view

Check out below the movie trailer featuring a message from the Director and some footage from a screening back in 2009 in which you can see Dolores.
Note that the versions of “Dreams” and “Empty” in this footage are the 1993 and 1994 album versions, not the new ones.

“South Dakota” swept major awards at the 2010 Los Angeles Reel Film Festival including Best Screenplay and Best Director.

Cranberries World video: “Ode To My Family” in Montbéliard

December 11, 2012  |  5 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Here comes -out of the blue- the song that no one requested. How could that have happened when we knew Dolores couldn’t sing it anymore? Get ready for our video of “Ode To My Family” recorded in Montbéliard, France.

One of us was lucky enough to catch sight of the setlist a few minutes before the lights were turned off, hence the fact we were prepared to capture what would necessarily be the highlight of the show. If some of you were moved by “Roses” in Luxembourg or Paris, get your tissues ready cause this was even more poignant! As you all know now, this was the one and only time Ode was performed on this European tour, simply because it was the last show of the European tour.

Recorded from the seated area in the back of the venue and close to the center, this view appears to be quite perfect. Feel free to share it, steal it, download it or whatever you want… ENJOY!

Last show of the European Roses Tour: Montbéliard

December 10, 2012  |  3 Comments  |  by Camille  |  The Cranberries

What a show, dear ‘Berries friends, what a show!
For their last concert of the European Roses Tour, The Cranberries surprised their fans playing “Ode To My Family” for the one and sole time on the whole tour, whereas Dolores seemed not too keen on playing it because of the recent death of her father a year ago. An intense and very emotional moment which we tried to capture in video and should post as soon as possible (just like the band, we need a little break 😉 ).

SETLIST:

Just My Imagination
Ode To My Family

Although Dolores spat several times on stage, explaining she was very sick, the band did and amazing and beautiful performance. Dolores didn’t miss the opportunity to thank everyone who made this tour true such as the fans who she said they’ll miss, while telling the audience that this was their last show after a 32-date tour. She also gave away a couple of gifts to thank some fans who followed the band around.

Concert Live disappoints several fans

December 7, 2012  |  1 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

Many of those who were waiting impatiently for their Caen 2-CD set from Concert Live got a sour surprise in their mailbox this week.

Unlike specified on their website, Concert Live sent their e-customers the 3-disk set, which was previously available at the Caen concert. This edition does not include any information (name of the venue, date, tracklist), as it was burned and packaged right after the Caen gig for on-site customers. Internet buyers received that 3-disk set, but with the encore already burnt on CD 2, leaving the third disk unused and irrelevant in this CD set.

Several fans who attended the Caen show had already bought that 3-CD set and payed another 20 pounds for the 2-CD set… but got another copy of the 3-CD set instead.

Contacted on this matter, Concert Live indicated that “2-Disc versions with a tracklist are only available 6 months after the tour is finished”, an information contradictory with the product description on their website and the London CD set.

For the London show, most e-customers received the 2-CD set with credit information and track list printed on the sleeve. Some other buyers randomly received the 3-CD set though!! Some other fans did not mind the mix up as the musical content was much important than the artwork for them.

As for the digital edition of the London show available on iTunes and Amazon since December 3, some fans reported that the audio files were not edited and that the CD fade-in/fade-out were also on the digital files.

So, what’s next for The Cranberries?

December 2, 2012  |  5 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

With the European tour ending in a few days, many are wondering what The Cranberries will do next..
While no confirmed plans have been announced, there are a few hints out there, saying that the band could continue touring sometime in 2013. At several concerts in France, Dolores finished up the show with a “see you next year”. Also, a French concert promotion agency, Pression Live (which is not involved with the band in the current tour) posted on Facebook last Thursday a weird message with a link to a video from the Sanremo Festival:

They were on tour in Europe for the last few months.
It would be a shame to deny yourself of them.
Here they are, live!

Also, the band did not stop by Latin America where there is a large active fan base nor the western part of North America last Spring, on their short North Eastern American tour. Could a second American Tour be up the sleeve too?

To be continued…

As requested, and a little late, here is our video recorded in Nantes.
We thought this version of “Put Me Down” was quite interesting as Dolores plays with harmonics, lowering her voice tone so that it fits Johanna’s voice.

Back from Lille tonight where we identified 3 highlights of the show:

  • “Sunday”, a song rarely played on this leg and tonight was the 3rd time on the whole European tour so far (premiere was in Bucharest). We’re sorry we didn’t record the song as we didn’t see this one coming.
  • “Empty”, just like Sunday this one has not been played a lot on this this tour (premiere in Madrid). See our video below.
  • Promises” requested by a few fans in the front row and which has only be played on request on this tour (premiere in Barcelona).

Cranberries World videos: “Roses” + “You And Me” in Paris

November 26, 2012  |  5 Comments  |  by Camille  |  The Cranberries

There you go! 2 songs in 1 recorded at Le Zénith in Paris yesterday. As you now know The Cranberries made a rather special and unusual encore for the first death anniversary of Dolores’ father.
My fellow fans on French forum “Pretty Dolores” also contributed in making this encore special by giving people in the front rows 200 roses to hold in the air.

Here is the video for you to enjoy. Our apologies if this video was not shot from the front row this time, we wanted a more global view to make sure we’d see the roses. No close ups then, plus it’s a bit dark as the lights were turned down on these two songs. Let’s hope we’ll find other videos shot by people closer to the stage soon so to see the whole scene better.

“Roses” & “You And Me” – Paris 2012 – 1st death anniversary of Dolores’ father

In the meantime, let me thank all of you, especially those who came up with this idea and planned everything with me, those who helped me financially, those who spent such a long time taking every single thorn out with me while queuing, those who gave the roses away to people surrounding them, the roadie who helped us in terms of organization (you rock, man!), and all those who participated, holding roses in the air.

Thank you ALL 🙂

Paris, a concert to remember

November 26, 2012  |  6 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

What a special show tonight in a sold out Zénith in Paris. As you may know, this show took place on the 1st death anniversary of Dolores’ father.
As a consequence The Cranberries played a very unusual show starting with the “Analyse” setlist but dedicated most of the encore to this anniversary.

The band thus returned a darkened stage after “Zombie” with a bunch of red roses on a table and a candle. Dolores explained the situation and dedicated “Roses” (the song) to her father. She then told the crowd how funnily her son -Taylor- has the very same eyes as her father, which led the band to start playing “You & Me” and skipping “Schizophrenic Playboys” for the first time on this tour.

A beautiful moment which was emphasized by a happening organized by French fans members of the forum “Pretty Dolores” led by Camille. They once again successfully managed to ask the audience in the first rows to hold almost two hundreds white roses in the air to pay homage to the band, the Roses album & tour, as well as Dolores’ family.

We tried to film these songs from the back to see the whole atmosphere so if good enough we will upload them asap otherwise no doubt there will be good ones on YouTube soon. In the meantime enjoy our few pics which we didn’t manage to post live on Twitter because of a bad connection, as well as the setlist.

Last thing, the concert was NOT recorded for a DVD as originally planned.

Ode To My Family: “I can’t sing it anymore”

November 22, 2012  |  Comments Off on Ode To My Family: “I can’t sing it anymore”  |  by Luc  |  Dolores O'Riordan, The Cranberries

Dolores briefly talked about the death of her father and her bereavement in a French article from Brest’s newspaper “Télégramme“.

I experienced a personal tragedy that affected me a lot. The last months of my father’s were very stressful. It took me many months before I could recover from his death. I needed to stay with my family and my children. I feel better today, I can now look at his picture. I now realize that I have to live without him…

She later told that she can’t sing “Ode to My Family” for now because it makes her think of her father. “I hope to be able to sing it back one day, but for now, it’s too soon”.

Thanks to Sara for the info.

Cranberries World videos: “Show Me” + “Still Can’t…” in Lyon

November 21, 2012  |  4 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Back from Lyon where we attended a more intimate show than expected. Only 5000 in a 15 000 people venue. The stage was moved closer to the seated area so that we couldn’t perceive any empty space at all. Good point. Excellent band & crowd on that night, we really enjoyed the great atmosphere. As Dolores said “Lyon totally rocks”. Watch her sing “oleee oleeee oleeee oleeee”

As we were not able to properly film the night before in Clermont-Ferrand (sorry about that) we decided to film 2 songs in Lyon, so here they are:

“Show Me” – Lyon 2012

“Still Can’t…” – Lyon 2012

Last but not least, for those who wish we had filmed a song in Clermont-Ferrand, below a nice video of “Dreams” filmed by YouTube user socalo03. Many thanks to this person.

The Cranberries don’t want to rush things

November 21, 2012  |  1 Comments  |  by Jury  |  The Cranberries

According to Noel’s latest interview for uaudio.com, the band wants to take its time when it comes to recording another album.

I’m not saying we want to spend another ten years writing, but we definitely don’t want to rush it. I’d rather not do that again and just take our time. Quality over quantity, you know? If it means it does take a bit longer than we should, I don’t think it’s a bad thing if you have a great result from it.

Noel is currently writing new songs for the band.

I started writing again around the beginning of this year. I actually find it easier to write when I’m traveling. On your days off you’re sitting around a hotel room anyway so it gives you something to do. I started sending stuff to Dolores around January and I’ve been writing bits and pieces.

Another Mono Band album.

There are some songs I feel aren’t really the Cranberries’ sound, so I decided I’m going to try and maybe do another Mono Band album at the same time. I’m going to try and do both, but I want to take my time doing it.

Noel also told some stories about the band’s early years and revealed lots of technical information about the way he records his songs nowadays, so if you like these kind of details read the full version of the interview.

Paris 2012 DVD (?) uncertain for sure!

November 19, 2012  |  5 Comments  |  by Camille  |  The Cranberries

Surprising news but nonetheless true.
From what we understood after talking to different members of The Cranberries road crew during the last couple of gigs, things have become quite complicated in the last days. It seems that the Zénith in Paris is now putting a spoke in the band’s wheel, so much that there might not be any DVD at all…

Apparently the amount of money required by the Parisian Zénith to film a concert in their venue is way above what’s reasonable.
Let’s just hope that the problem can be solved after negotiations.
We imagine you’re all as excited as us to know a new DVD could possibly be released, so let’s cross fingers and we’ll let you know as soon as we learn more about this matter.

Now the show will get a digital release on December 3rd and all the 22 live songs will be available through the iTunes and Amazon digital music stores at the price of US$ 5.99$ or £5.49 which is ridiculously low compared to the 2-CD set price (£20).

Dolores to perform at the annual Italian Christmas Concert?

November 19, 2012  |  2 Comments  |  by Luc  |  Dolores O'Riordan

Dolores O’ Riordan might perform at the 20th Concerto Di Natale next December according to Radio Italia (radioitalia.it). The concert will take place on December 15th at the Auditorium Conciliazione in Roma and is to be broadcast on Rai 2 TV on Christmas night.

Dolores’ presence is not confirmed yet.

Dolores was part of the 2001, 2002, 2005 and 2006 editions where she performed her own material (both Cranberries and solo songs) and Christmas classics.

Cranberries World video: “Conduct” in Grenoble

November 18, 2012  |  5 Comments  |  by Camille  |  The Cranberries

Back from Grenoble where we enjoyed a really good show with a very dynamic crowd. We didn’t film what we thought was the key moment of the show but “Conduct” as some of you had requested this song, we would otherwise have picked “Put Me Down” during which Dolores added some interesting vocals at the end.

“Conduct” – Grenoble 2012

Also, we’ll try to capture “Not Sorry…” on the following shows (a request again), and “Show Me” which is turning more and more captivating in time, especially as Dolores now encourages the audience to clap their hands during the verses of the song. To be continued…

Cranberries World video: “I Can’t Be With You” in Strasbourg

November 15, 2012  |  3 Comments  |  by Camille  |  The Cranberries

Yesterday The Cranberries were in Strasbourg in France.
Unfortunately the show was far from being sold out with only one third of the venue (about 2,000 people). Some security team members even told us that the show might have been cancelled in the afternoon. We don’t know whether this was the band or the tour producer’s decision.Anyway, as the show eventually took place, here is the video we filmed in the front row:

“I Can’t Be With You” – Strasbourg 2012

At the end of the show Dolores wished us all “A Merry Christmas” and added “See you next year”.
Is a new European leg planned for next year or was it just a way to say goodbye? Future will tell…

A few videos of the “Roses Tour” recorded by ourselves so far

November 13, 2012  |  3 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

As promised, all CW team members try to film one song at each show they’re attending. We choose the songs according to what we think is a key moment of the show, or on your request. Be sure our crew does its best and we can’t guarantee success every time as camera policy totally varies one venue to another. We’re rarely meeting any problem though with the compact photo camera we’re using for these videos. However please keep in mind that recording videos prevents the one who films from enjoying the show as one may thus focus more on the screen of the camera than the concert itself. No need to say that our team do want to enjoy the show first (probably like all of us).

Below are new videos as well as some old ones you may already know.

“Electric Blue” – Orléans – November 11, 2012

“Twenty One” – Antwerpen – November 4, 2012

“Astral Projections” – Esch-sur-Alzette – November 2, 2012

Interlude (Shattered instrumental)” – Toulouse – October 25, 2012

“No Need To Argue” – London – October 2, 2012

The Cranberries played “Electric Blue” tonight

November 10, 2012  |  6 Comments  |  by Luc  |  The Cranberries

Tonight The Cranberries offered a safe setlist to the Caen crowd (and then to the future Concert Live CD-set listeners)… until they surprised fans with a flute-playing Dolores on “Electric Blue”!!!

The band used their “Dreams-to-Salvation” setlist which includes mostly older hits from the 90’s. This setlist is similar to the one performed on most Asian/North American concerts last spring.

A few changes were made though, including “Electric Blue” on which Dolores played the flute. Earlier today, a member of the CW team who attended tonight’s show reported that fans heard from the outside of the venue the band rehearse “Electric Blue” a few times this afternoon.

“Twenty-One” was also performed while more recent material like “Show Me” and “Astral Projections” was kept out of the setlist for tonight’s recorded show.

On the bright side of life, fans who buy the CD-set will get the first professional recording of “Raining in My Heart” other than the acoustic version performed several times on last winter promo tour. Let’s hope that the future Paris DVD recording will actually happen and that more “Roses” tracks will be performed.

You can buy the 2-CD set of tonight’s show in Caen directly on the Concert Live website (the encore will be included on CD2, unlike if you bought it on-site).
Please note that CD’s of last month’s London show as well as three “Reunion Tour 2010” shows (Paris, London, Milano) are also still available online.

Caen setlist:
