MEANING

  • Dolores explained in “Q” magazine that the song was written when she had to leave her children to go on tour with the band in 2003.

NOTES

  • According to Dolores O’Riordan, this song was written in an airplane in 2003 and recorded the same year with Stephen Street on a demo EP. At the time some sources referred to the song as Raining In My Hart (-heart without E-). This demo has never been heard yet.
  • Re-recorded in 2011 at the Metalworks Studios in Toronto, Raining In My Heart was described as a reggae infused song by Cooking Vinyl (the band’s label) in October 2011.
  • On 23 December 2011 a preview of this song was put online on the Australian iTunes store along with the other tracks of “Roses”
  • “Raining In My Heart” was played live for the first time during “Soundcheck · WNYC 93.9 FM” on 8 February 2012.
  • The song was played live in concert for the first time in Auckland during the Roses Tour on 15 March 2012.
