In my opinion, I’m with them that, given the bad experience The Puro had, even though they don’t say it clearly, they thought the least they could do was hire a female singer to sing The Cranberries songs, which is why they’re suggesting Dermot Kennedy as the singer for the songs. But perhaps I don’t know what you think after watching today’s live performances at Electric Picnic. It’s just that I believe and feel that with the death of Dolores, The Cranberries are over, at least as far as new albums and live performances are concerned. That’s why I say this. Because although they are also the composers of the songs (which is normal for them to play them live, of course), they insist too much on the past, even with “Zombie,” with or without a remix, it already disenchants me. It’s a shame they don’t want to move forward with new projects, in the sense that Noel and Mike returned to Mono Band, where they had a select group of diverse singers and the sound was experimental. Or that Fergal, Noel, and Mike form a new band with a new name and do something more experimental. I don’t know if The Cranberries’ exploitation, especially their record label, is very good. They’ve already been releasing repetitive reissues that contribute little, and there’s no need to revive the memory like that. I think it’s independent, that The Cranberries won’t be forgotten; they’re songs that will endure, but we should also let them rest. That’s my opinion; I think Noel and Mike have great potential to make new music and explore other horizons as musicians.

Yes they did it right to choose a male singer. Sure crans songs are made for female vocals but seeing all the dolores wanabees is just unbearable. So dermot was not a bad choice and he did it quite ok imo.
