YouTube user “Radio AlternativeMusic dot com” shared a rare video recorded backstage post show in Rochester, NY, USA on 8 November 1993. Title says venue was Water Street Music Hall but this might be a mistake as the show that day happened at Horizontal Boogie Bar… or is the Horizontal Boogie Bar the mistake?

Earlier today or very late at night yesterday in the USA (if she’s still in NYC), Dolores posted a brand new message both on The Cranberries Facebook and Twitter:
Hi All, Dolores here. Feeling good! I did my first bit of gigging in months at the weekend, performed a few songs at the Billboard annual staff holiday party in New York with the house band. Really enjoyed it! Happy Christmas to all our fans!! Xo
The Cranberries among other artists filling the soundtrack of the new TV series “Derry Girls” on Channel 4 (UK) starting Thursday, January 4th.
Trailer below, “Dreams” inside:

In the series guess the next color, the album “No Need To Argue” will be reissued on GREEN VINYL on 16 February 2018 still by the same label, Plain Recordings.
As you all remember, the label already reissued the album 4 times (180 grams, cranberry, plum and turquoise) these last 2 years.
This new reissue will be limited to 660 units (666 would have been a bit more rock n’ roll)
You can preorder right now by clicking this link, price is $29.98 including shipping for USA. Worldwide shipping available for a few extra dollars.

Eminem released today a new album called “Revival” which includes a track called “In Your Head”. Yes it is about “Zombie”. Not really a cover but a (rap) song that samples Zombie’s chorus and guitar.
Usually we never talk about cover songs/bands but as Eminem is quite famous and as The Cranberries even shared the news on their socials, this one is an exception.
Well… to be honest we should make no exception and no difference between famous and anonymous people but that’s the way it is. At least the man allows The Cranberries to be recalled to a larger and different audience and that’s always a good thing.
Talking about the song well… no comment!

“In Your Head” is track #17

Not the best photo to clearly see it but more should appear pretty soon as first customers are receiving their order these days.

UPDATE – NOVEMBER 21
2 more photos this time on eBay, sealed with sticker, front & back covers:

Another 2 rarely seen photos on socials.
First one, probably from a meet and greet in 2002, was published today on Instagram by user n.i.c.k_1979 with the hashtag #momentofalifetime
Second photo was published on November 26, 2012 on Johnny’s Kitchen Facebook. Johnny’s Kitchen is an Irish Pub located in Lyon, France. The Cranberries were playing in Lyon on November 20th so the photo was then published a few days after, when the band was not in the city anymore.
Delores from The Cranberries in for a cup of tea and a chat!
Note: English natives will definitely never know how to write Dolores correctly!

More details about the Chinese show “Xiaoshuo” with Gao Xiaosong. First the show is broadcast on the internet exclusively not on Chinese TV. This is an important detail, however it is followed by more than 2 million people.
As reported previously the team of the show went to Ireland and among many other things met Dolores and Noel in Limerick. We now have the exact date, September 3, 2017 and some behind the scenes photos.
Thanks to Alex Verveboy on Facebook group “Doors and windows – FANS – THE CRANBERRIES“.

An article entitled “Chinese tourists drawn to Ireland … by whiskey, hurling and The Cranberries” published today by sino.co.uk reveals that the host of “Youku TV show Morning Call” (晓说 ‘Xiao shuo’ in Chinese), Gao Xiaosong, went to Ireland last month and had the opportunity to meet Dolores and Noel in Limerick. The article includes a photo of the interview, so this is the most recent image of Dolores to this day.
Click here to watch the video. Dolores and Noel mostly appear in the last 4 minutes of the report. Unfortunately it is impossible to clearly hear what they say as the host speaks Chinese all the time. There’s also live footage of The Cranberries but nothing really new, images come from the show at Festi’neuch in Neuchâtel, Switzerland in 2016.
Thanks to Dolores O’Riordan Spain on Facebook for the link.
Noel and Dolores with Chinese TV host Gao Xiaosong
It seems that a large campaign started these days in China (well, at least on the “Morning Call” show) to promote Ireland as a must-see tourist destination. Last week The Irish Times already revealed most of the info in an article entitled “Pubs, hurling and the Cranberries used to lure Chinese here“.

Here’s two rarely seen photos of Dolores in the city of Lille, France on May 12, 2017. First one was published by Charlie’s Delicatessen’s on Facebook, a kind of café/restaurant where Dolores had a drink:
The second photo was posted by David Fremy who comments Charlie’s Delicatessen’s post: “A few minutes before I got to meet her!!!!“
The artist Oumi Kapila just released a cover version of “Zombie”. We usually never report about cover songs/cover bands as there are too many each week and most of the time they are not very good or/nor interesting. Today is an exception as first, there is no big news these days in the Cranberries world, and secondly this cover song appears in 2 blockbuster trailers this month. Not that bad!
1st trailer is for the Xbox videogame “Middle Earth – Shadow of War” whose the whole soundtrack features Oumi Kapila’s version:
“Shadow of War” – Xbox – Trailer
2nd trailer is for the next season of “The X-Files” where Oumi Kapila’s version is just a part of the soundtrack among other music and dialogs:
“The X-Files” – Season 11 – Trailer
Below the full song by Oumi Kapila:
Oumi Kapila – “Zombie”
The question could be, why don’t all those blockbusters use the original Cranberries song… but that’s another story!
Thanks to Mark for the info.
