Was Dolores a true rock star?

This morning, independent.ie announced that post-mortem results are due for release tomorrow.
Let’s note note that website Santa Monica Observer announced that a source in the London Police Department said Dolores O’ Riordan died of Fentanyl poisoning:
Lead Singer of the Cranberries Dolores O’Riordan died of Fentanyl poisoning Monday, said a source in the London Police Department. Authorities found counterfeit fentanyl near the 46 years old rocker’s bed. The source added that an official cause of death will probably have to wait for a toxicology report. He added that suicide and a deliberate overdose are suspected.
Several media around the world are now quoting this article as a reliable source of information, though this U.S. newspaper is known for publishing fake news, so we’d strongly advised to wait for the coroner report!
The Mirror reported that Dolores’ body was discovered in the bathroom of her suite by the cleaners. She was staying at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

WORST DAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry we just can’t find words to comment on that…
Here’s just a link to the article of the Irish Independent
Dolores once said in an interview that she couldn’t picture herself live over 50.
Unfortunately she was SO DAMN RIGHT.
Our deepest condolences go to Her Family, first.
Thinking also of the boys, the beautiful Cranberries team, and all our fellow fans.
WE LOVE YOU DOLORES
MAY YOU REST IN PEACE
Incredible but true!
Still the same news over and over again…

H-1 before the Irish TV premiere of the animated short film “Angela’s Christmas” featuring a brand new song recorded last month by Dolores O’Riordan as revealed on The Cranberries Twitter, Facebook and Instagram 2 days ago.
Facebook post
For those outside of Ireland, you can watch RTE One on FirstOneTV by clicking here, the link might work worldwide (no garantee!!). Let’s hope many of you will record and share for all those who can’t access/watch or just in case there’s no replay nor OST available afterwards.
See you after the broadcast later today/tonight for a brief recap!
UPDATE – 9:00 PM (UTC)
The film aired 10 minutes earlier than scheduled.
This is the story of a little girl named Angela who, on Xmas Eve 1914, “steals” Baby Jesus from the Nativity Scene in a cold church in Limerick because she thought he was cold and wanted to warm him home… and eventually bring him back.
Baby Jesus being stolen
Back to church
At home Angela sings a few lines of the song simply called “Angela’s Song”. Obviously this is Angela’s voice (Lucy O’Connell) singing these few lines, not Dolores’.
You can hear Dolores singing the (full?) song during the end credits. It’s approximately 1 minute long. It’s interesting to notice that Dolores only performed the song and did not write it as it’s written and produced by Darren Hendley.
irishsoul just shared it on Vimeo, many thanks to her.
Happy Christmas!
“Angela’s Song” performed by Dolores O’Riordan
Rest with me
We’ll be warm and free to dream
Of all the things yet to come
For you my little one
Lay with me
Let us sing a sweet melody
Of all the things yet to come
For you my little one
Look up high and see
All the stars above you and me
They shine a light on all the things to come
For you my little one
Earlier today or very late at night yesterday in the USA (if she’s still in NYC), Dolores posted a brand new message both on The Cranberries Facebook and Twitter:
Hi All, Dolores here. Feeling good! I did my first bit of gigging in months at the weekend, performed a few songs at the Billboard annual staff holiday party in New York with the house band. Really enjoyed it! Happy Christmas to all our fans!! Xo
The Cranberries among other artists filling the soundtrack of the new TV series “Derry Girls” on Channel 4 (UK) starting Thursday, January 4th.
Trailer below, “Dreams” inside:
“Derry Girls” – Trailer
In the series guess the next color, the album “No Need To Argue” will be reissued on GREEN VINYL on 16 February 2018 still by the same label, Plain Recordings.
As you all remember, the label already reissued the album 4 times (180 grams, cranberry, plum and turquoise) these last 2 years.
This new reissue will be limited to 660 units (666 would have been a bit more rock n’ roll)
You can preorder right now by clicking this link, price is $29.98 including shipping for USA. Worldwide shipping available for a few extra dollars.

As revealed earlier today Dolores performed at “Billboard Holiday Party” in New York City yesterday. Singer Emily Afton just shared on Instagram 4 photos and 2 small videos of the evening in one single post (swipe to see all pics and vids). 2 of them concerning Dolores.
“Linger” – a bit out of key as you can see on video below – and “Zombie” were performed for sure as well as a possible 3rd song but we don’t know which one yet.
Brb jumping back in time to tell my 16-year old self what I did last night… We played the @billboard holiday party and I got to sing with Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Chris Baron (the Spin Doctors), Dolores O’Riordan (the f$*%ing CRANBERRIES), Matt Scannell (Vertical Horizon), and Sophie B. Hawkins. IT WAS SO COOL (just realized the sugar ray song is in there twice but I can’t delete it so YOLO)
“Linger” – December 14, 2017 – NYC
UPDATE: After Dolores’ passing, billboard.com published a short “In Memoriam” video with images recorded from the audience at their Billboard Holiday Party.
The wait wasn’t so long, Dolores’ original song for “Angela’s Christmas” is out today and a glimpse have just been published on Facebook and YouTube
Now guess the song title…

Big news!
According to Mark McGrath’s tweet it seems like Dolores O’Riordan performed/appeared at some Billboard Xmas party last night in New York City. Hope we’ll have more information soon.
How great!
Eminem released today a new album called “Revival” which includes a track called “In Your Head”. Yes it is about “Zombie”. Not really a cover but a (rap) song that samples Zombie’s chorus and guitar.
Usually we never talk about cover songs/bands but as Eminem is quite famous and as The Cranberries even shared the news on their socials, this one is an exception.
Well… to be honest we should make no exception and no difference between famous and anonymous people but that’s the way it is. At least the man allows The Cranberries to be recalled to a larger and different audience and that’s always a good thing.
Talking about the song well… no comment!

“In Your Head” is track #17
