“From a Whisper to a Scream”, a DVD that documents the history of Irish rock was released last week in limited distribution. However, it seems that the DVD does contain some rare footage indeed.
Unfortunately, The Cranberries segment is very very short. However, the segment does manage to feature an extended clip of the very first “Dreams” video. The astute fan can tell you that there were three videos made for “Dreams”, the second being the blue-green watery scene, and the third being Dolores running with the white horse. However, the first video has been very elusive, and virtually no one has seen it.
The first video, probably made in mid-1992, is described as very low- budget, and the band is quite young. The majority of the video simply features the band’s heads superimposed over each other on a black background — not to mention Dolores’ teeth were still in the Austin Powers stage.
Because of the limited distribution, it’s been very hard to find a copy except by special order, but The Herald hopes to have its own copy within the next few days.
Thanks to Paul for the info.
