BREAKING: The Cranberries recording SOMETHING at the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio?!

April 29, 2016  |  5 Comments  |  by Jury  |  The Cranberries

Last few days Noel has been posting new photos on The Cranberries’ new Instagram page. These photos feature Noel, Mike and Ferg in some large spaces with lots of musical instruments, headphones and microphones… as if the boys were recording something! Another photo shows a music sheet of Zombie. Some fans were speculating that these photos were part of a recording session.

And today we have another clue! A new photo on The Cranberries’ Instagram has a geotagging saying that it was taken at the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio in Limerick! And Noel added the words: “One last take….” on his Twitter page.

As some fans may remember, on February 24th, Dolores told in the interview after the court sentencing that she’s about to release two records, one with D.A.R.K. and the other with… The Chamber Orchestra!

According to the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio website, its “state-of-the-art space has been acoustically modelled to share the properties of the world’s finest concert halls” and it provides “rehearsal and recording facilities for the orchestra.”

So it seems like the pieces of the puzzle are beginning to fall into place: The Cranberries are indeed recording (or rehearsing?) something at the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio, and so far it looks like something acoustic (lots of acoustic guitars and Fergal’s famous Empty drums on photos). So what is it? An acoustic best of album with orchestrated arrangements? Or just a rehearsal at fancy studio… but why so many microphones? Time will tell!

Anyway, these are very exciting news for The Cranberries fans, and we can’t wait to hear what are you thinking about this in our comments section!

“Sciences Agrees” release postponed?!

April 29, 2016  |  6 Comments  |  by Camille  |  D.A.R.K., Dolores O'Riordan

Worrying news for fans as rumor has been circulating for a few days that D.A.R.K. debut album release could be postponed to a later date this year…

Cranberries World team had decided not to comment on this as there was no official sign that this would happen.

However, this morning, Amazon UK changed the release date to August 19, 2016 as you can see yourself on this page.

We’ll keep you updated on this unexpected and major postponement as soon as we’ll get more news during the upcoming hours/days, keep on checking our website!

Fans who pre-ordered the album will most probably receive an email from Pledge Music in the following hours/days to let them know when they can expect their album to be delivered, closer to August.

Thanks to Dan Steward who brought our attention to this fact.

EDIT [10:30am GMT]

Confirmed on iTunes.com (and iTunes France) as well for August 19th!!
Thanks to Arnaud for letting us know.

EDIT [11:37am GMT]
September 23 on Amazon Canada, Thanks Andrea!

“Science Agrees” promo CD surfaces

April 26, 2016  |  1 Comments  |  by Axl  |  D.A.R.K.

“Science Agrees” promo CD just appeared for the very first time on eBay. Seller is from Poland and opening bid is 200PLN plus shipping which makes about $50 plus shipping. It’s quite expensive but that’s the price to pay to hear the album before it is released and own a collector item.

Below is the first image of the CD. It is not really HQ, just enough to tell the cover art looks no different than the retail album should look. And about the CD itself, impossible to know for now even if there is a good chance that the retail version will be a little different.

It’s official The Cranberries now have an Instagram account.
Earlier today Noel Hogan twitted the link of the very first picture posted there.

That one isn’t really new and was already seen on Noel’s Tumblr before but who cares, having The Cranberries on Instagram is definitely a good news…

Olé Koretsky and Andy Rourke from D.A.R.K. give first interview

April 20, 2016  |  Comments Off on Olé Koretsky and Andy Rourke from D.A.R.K. give first interview  |  by Axl  |  D.A.R.K.

Way Out Radio, an online Fanzine & Podcast, published “An interview with Andy Rourke, The Smiths”.
Even if not in the title Olé Koretsky was also interviewed! The Journalist Paula Frost met the 2 guys just a few days ago and they are mostly talking about the band JetLag/D.A.R.K.
Dolores was not interviewed but it is still very interesting to read.

2016.04.18 wayoutradio itw

The guys talk a little bit about their childhood and their musical influences, the first time they met and how they came to meet Dolores, why the name Jetlag was changed into D.A.R.K. (which indeed is their initials), the writing process, the rehearsals and the line up on tour (Olé on vocals and a little bit of guitar, Andy on bass, Dolores on vocals only, plus a drummer working with a sampler and another guitar player), their favorite D.A.R.K. song (The Moon) and of course The Smiths and a few more things. Nice!

“Science Agrees” physical album delayed in the USA

April 20, 2016  |  Comments Off on “Science Agrees” physical album delayed in the USA  |  by Axl  |  D.A.R.K.

The US release date for the physical album “Science Agrees” has changed.
Amazon USA is now announcing the CD/Vinyl release for June 24 instead of May 27.
The digital version of the full album remains available on May 27 in the US (and worldwide).

Science AgreesFor now reason is unknown. Possibly late June might be a better time to promote the album in the USA and to have the full band available (like in store appearances, media interviews or whatever).
Remember, on May 27 D.A.R.K. will be touring Europe and just after Dolores will be touring with The Cranberries still in Europe, so no time for USA before mid-June.

Mikey Freedom Hart (Ex_Reyes) to join The Cranberries on tour (UPDATED)

April 18, 2016  |  3 Comments  |  by Camille  |  The Cranberries

Our friends at Cranberries Mexico noticed today that Johanna Wiseley (White Prism) who, as we know, have been touring with The Cranberries as backing vocals/keyboard player since 2012, posted a new picture of the rehearsals for The Cranberries summer 2016 tour featuring multi-instrumentalist Mikey Freedom Hart Ex Reyes

In the caption, Johanna mentions she’s happy that Ex Reyes (Mikey) is now “on board”.

Ex-Reyes-The-Cranberries-rehearsals
This comes as a confirmation that, as fans could easily imagine, Russell Burton will not tour with the band as the additional guitarist/keyboard player on the 2016 tour.

It’s now up to European fans to warmly welcome Ex Reyes who, here, succeeds Russell Burton (Roses Tour) and Denny DeMarchi (Reunion Tour) on stage.

UPDATE APR.19 – 7:00 PM (UTC)

Noel Hogan posted 3 new pictures on Tumblr with Johanna and the new guy Mikey now rehearsing with the band.

Concert Live’s “Single Greatest Live Hits Collection” CANCELLED

April 17, 2016  |  Comments Off on Concert Live’s “Single Greatest Live Hits Collection” CANCELLED  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Customers who recently ordered The Cranberries “Single Greatest Live Hits Collection” box set 7″ vinyls at Concert Live just received an email to warn them that their order was cancelled due to additional costs of production. To apologize the email includes a discount code giving 25% off any purchase over £10 made through their website.

2016.03.25 concert live vinyl box set

Dear valued customer,

Thank you for your recent purchase of our new 7 inch single products.
Unfortunately, although we have started, and made good progress with the manufacture of these titles, our original supplier has informed us that they are unable to complete the manufacturing due to an increase in their costs of production.
This has been very frustrating for us and has sadly meant that the additional cost of production would result in us having to increase the retail price of the products which is not a cost we are willing to place on our customers.
We therefore feel that the best course of action at this time is to refund you on your purchase, and offer you a discount voucher for your next purchase with us as although this issue has been out of our hands, its not fair on you, our customers, that this issue causes either further delays, or cost.
Please find here your discount code. This code gives you 25% off any purchase over £10 made through the Concert Live website and is active as of now.
All refunds are being processed today and will be credited back on to the card you used to purchase. Please note depending upon the bank funds may take up to 5 days to appear in your account.
If you have any other questions please contact us at support@concertlive.co.uk.
Thank you for your continued support and our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

“Curvy” radio edit version on RTÉ 2FM

April 13, 2016  |  1 Comments  |  by Axl  |  D.A.R.K.

Last April 12, the Irish radio RTÉ 2FM broadcasted a radio edit version of Curvy on “The Alternative with Dan Hegarty” show.
This radio version is only 3:20 which means more than 2 minutes cut!
The intro and the final verses were edited out.
It’s quite reasonable to cut the long intro but the final verses missing is… kinda weird!
Have your opinion and listen to the replay by clicking this link.
Curvy starts at 00:14:10

Mexico confirmed + The Cranberries rehearsal setlist (SPOIL!!!!!)

April 12, 2016  |  8 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Two major news at the same time given by The Cranberries today.
The 1st one concerns the shows in Cancún which are now officially confirmed by the band on Facebook.
As mentioned yesterday the two shows will take place at Moon Palace Arena on August 26 & 27, 2016.
Fans will be now able to buy their tickets confidently as the band will definitely come and play in Mexico.
Tickets go on sale May 23rd.

This is a great news for South America as we can easily imagine these two shows won’t be the only ones on the continent. It would be very costly for the band to travel and play a one-off in one city…

SETLIST WARNING: STOP READING THERE IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED.

Second news concerns the setlist rehearsed these days by the band and revealed by Noel Hogan on Twitter earlier today.

Last week The Cranberries gathered in a studio to rehearse a few songs and on the 2nd rehearsal day, Noel posted some nice pictures where we can see the boys and some of their gears.
On one photo we could read what was probably a very first version of a setlist as seen in this news.
A few fans noticed that the list was very similar to that of the Roses Tour 2012!
Today for the second week of rehearsal, the band seems to be rehearsing more songs.
Take a look at the new list below:

2016.04.12 rehearsal setlist

Quite a nice surprise as this song list features a lot more rarities with a few ones not played live in a very long time such as Hollywood, Wake Up And Smell The Coffee or This Is The Day. Please note this is just a list of everything they’re trying in no particular order and some of these songs might not be included in the final set. Some more might be added as well. Definitely exciting!
What do you think?

More information about The Cranberries announced in Cancún, Mexico on August 26 & 27, 2016.
The shows are still not confirmed by the band but the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort published a new ad on their website a few days ago where the name of the venue is revealed. It will be the Moon Palace Arena. These shows become a bit more likely every day.

D.A.R.K.’s new song “Loosen The Noose” available now (2 UPDATES)

April 7, 2016  |  10 Comments  |  by Axl  |  D.A.R.K., Dolores O'Riordan

D.A.R.K.’s new song “Loosen The Noose” will be released tomorrow April 8th.
It’s still April 7th right now for half of the world but if you live in a country where April 8th is already there like Russia, Japan, Australia and else the YouTube video link below is already working.
If not midnight for you there’s nothing we can do 🙁  just be patient or try to change your computer clock (not working for everyone!)

Like on “Curvy” Dolores and Olé are both singing on this one.
A cool nice song with very sweet Dolores vocals.

UPDATE 8:25 PM (UTC)

Cranberries World team’s attempt at writing the lyrics can be found on the “Loosen The Noose” page.
If you think there is a mistake please let us know.
You can find more lyrics in the Song List A-Z section.

UPDATE 10:01 PM (UTC)

It’s now midnight all over Europe (except Portugal, UK and Ireland) and the song is also available on Spotify:

More details about the Cancún shows

April 7, 2016  |  1 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Still not officially confirmed by The Cranberries yet, the 2 concerts at Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico next August 26 & 27 have a dedicated Facebook page in English. We can learn tickets will go on sale on May 23, 2016 and their prices range from $129-$249 from the Gold to the VIP section.
Yes this is US Dollars. Quite expensive compared to the European shows but it seems attendees will enjoy a pre-concert dinner at 7:00 PM. Will there be tickets without dinner? Things are quite unclear for now.

Even if the information seems more serious this time than another Mexican concert in the past, let’s hope The Cranberries will confirm these shows before May 23 otherwise fans will have to take a big risk on their own!

The Cranberries in Mexico & The Cranberries rehearsal days

April 6, 2016  |  3 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Breaking news for Mexico today as The Cranberries are announced to play 2 concerts in Cancún on August 26th & 27th. The information is not officially confirmed by the band yet but was announced last March 24th on the internet by Quintana Roo Hoy.
If confirmed it would automatically mean more South American concerts to be announced soon (and why not a few concerts in North America as well). The last time the band played Mexico -and mostly South America- was in 2010 during the Reunion Tour. The Cranberries have some of their biggest fans there and the band is expected like no other band is. Even more since the last tour for the album Roses in 2012 didn’t stop on the South American continent at all!

2016.08.26 27 moon palace ad

Other news, yesterday was rehearsal day 1 for The Cranberries but no information were revealed. Even the very opposite, we had a few more pictures of Dolores with her side project D.A.R.K. doing interviews and photo shooting for a media called The Talkhouse.

These pictures are difficult to date and even if recent (probably taken just a couple of days ago) they don’t mean Dolores wasn’t rehearsing with The Cranberries yesterday or don’t mean she was! What’s for sure is things are moving fast now and it really seems both projects are carried out in parallel by Dolores.

2016.04.06 rehearsals day 2 pic1

And now today is The Cranberries rehearsal day 2. Noel just shared on his Tumblr account some photos where we can see the instruments and gears ready. We can also see Mike and Fergal & 2 familiar tech guys. Noel is not on the pictures as he probably is the one taking them. No sign of Dolores for now and she possibly hasn’t arrived yet which is not really a surprise as the very first rehearsal days might be instrumental only.

On one picture we can even read some part of the setlist (yes it is readable if you are an expert in Cranberries songs) but no spoiling here, read it if you like or keep the surprise, your choice!

Anyway good things are coming for sure…
Noel also posted a short mobile phone video on his Twitter:

Dolores to take part in a charity project against homelessness

April 3, 2016  |  Comments Off on Dolores to take part in a charity project against homelessness  |  by Axl  |  Dolores O'Riordan

An article published today on the Independent reveals that Dolores O’Riordan will be involved in a project called “Rock Against Homelessness” which is part of the “One For Ireland” campaign. This event is to alert on the overall number of homeless people in Ireland seriously increasing these last months and to raise €1M to fight youth homelessness throughout April.

2016.04.24 concert ad

A concert will take place at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin on April 24 and a charity CD will be released in 3 weeks. Dolores is not on the list of the artists performing at the concert (or is she the very special guest?) but is to feature on the CD among other artists such as The Waterboys, Sinead O’Connor, The Chieftains, The Saw Doctors, Tommy Fleming, Camille O’Sullivan, Mundy and Hometown.

Thanks to A.P. for the tip!

New D.A.R.K. pictures (UPDATED)

April 3, 2016  |  Comments Off on New D.A.R.K. pictures (UPDATED)  |  by Camille  |  D.A.R.K.

Since the launch of D.A.R.K. official website and the announcement of their European 7 dates tour, numerous media – such as Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, NME… etc – have shown interest in this new collaboration between The Smiths bassist Andy Rourke, The Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan, and NYC based DJ, songwriter and producer Olé Koretsky.

Browsing online articles enable fans to find out new pictures of the band such as this one, found by Cranberries Mexico in Mexican “Indie Rocks!”.

Recently, the band’s publicist in the US, reybee, shared the 2 below pictures of three of them interviewing each other for The Talkhouse in New Jersey, about their new album and how their pasts intersected from being The Smiths and The Cranberries. Podcast should be published online early May
