As reported in January, a few years ago Noel played guitar as a “guest guitarist” on a track by Polish band Zerova. As it turns out, the track is actually called “Józiu”. It is the first single from Zerova’s album “Gombrowicz” which is going to be released this month.
Noel Hogan is credited as

“The Voice of Ireland” – Team Dolores Battles: Recap

March 15, 2014  |  Comments Off on “The Voice of Ireland” – Team Dolores Battles: Recap  |  by Jury  |  The Voice of Ireland

The Battle stage of “The Voice of Ireland” is over so here’s a recap of #TeamDolores performances!
The 1st battle was Nella Dwyer Vs. John Hogan Jr. performing “Losing My Religion” by R.E.M.
Dolores chose John thanks to his quirky and passionate performance. Unfortunately no other coaches “stole” Nella in spite of her beautiful interpretation and unusual tone.

1st battle: Nella Dwyer Vs. John Hogan Jr

The 2nd battle was a three way battle between Peter Whitford, Anna O’ Hanlon and Thomas Kinney singing “Breakeven” by The Script. This was a very awkward and strange performance (to say the least) as other coaches noted, and Dolores chose Peter even though he had a laryngitis. Anyway, kudos to Anna and Thomas for trying their best singing this quite difficult song!

2nd battle: Peter Whitford Vs. Anna O’ Hanlon Vs. Thomas Kinney

Then a steal happened…
Impressed by her performance of Foo Fighters’ “My Hero”, Dolores stole Emma Walsh from Team Bressie.

The 3rd battle was Sean Sunderland Vs. Mariah Butler performing “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” by Green Day. It was a very powerful and well-rehearsed performance. After some consideration, Dolores decided to go with Mariah who has a really powerful and beautiful voice.

3rd battle: Sean Sunderland Vs. Mariah Butler

The 4th battle was Michelle Revins Vs. Jamie Stanton performing Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters” and… there was standing ovation at the end! Even though both guys performed so well and passionate, Dolores decided to take Michelle because she was the only person to make her cry during her first performance at the Blind Auditions. But good things happened to Jamie, too: he was stolen by Bressie!

4th battle: Michelle Revins Vs. Jamie Stanton

The last and 5th battle featured Kellie Lewis Vs. Pauric McLoughlin performing “True Colours” by Cyndi Lauper. Other coaches noted that the song choice was more suitable for the vocals of Kellie thus making Pauric a little bit uncomfortable singing this “girlish” song. Dolores chose Kellie, but Pauric – thanks to his impressive performance at the Blind Auditions! – was stolen by Kian.

5th battle: Kellie Lewis Vs. Pauric McLoughlin

The Live shows of “The Voice of Ireland” begin this Sunday! Team Dolores has now 6 contestants:

Mariah Butler
Michelle Revins
Kellie Lewis
John Hogan Jr.
Peter Whitford
Emma Walsh (stolen from Team Bressie)

The first Live show this Sunday will feature Kellie Lewis, Michelle Revins and John Hogan Jr. from Team Dolores as well as other great contestants from other teams. Good luck, guys!

“Zombie” is back on the US iTunes charts

March 15, 2014  |  Comments Off on “Zombie” is back on the US iTunes charts  |  by Jury  |  The Cranberries

The biggest Cranberries hit, “Zombie”, is back on the iTunes charts… thanks to the US version of the popular talent show “The Voice”.
On the March 3 episode of “The Voice”, one of the contestants, Clarissa Serna, performed “Zombie” during the Blind Auditions.

According to the article entitled “The Voice recap: Clarissa Serna wows with Zombie performance” published by HollywoodLife.com, she “prompted an elusive four-chair turn with her haunting, original take on The Cranberries’ Zombie. Clarissa definitely made a bold song choice — and her risk paid off! Adam [Levine] said her deliciously ’90s performance made him nostalgic and it appeared he wasn’t the only one. Each one of the judges wanted Clarissa on their team, but she ultimately decided to go with her “Latina soul sister” Shakira“.

As a result, Clarissa Serna’s performance put “Zombie” back on the iTunes charts, with the peak of #33 according to our reader Ben. (Huge thanks to Ben for the heads up!)
An article entitled “The Voice’s Clarissa Serna drives iTunes sales for Zombie” published on Headlineplanet.com is talking about that:
