In another of their mailing list exclusives, the official page has updated with the status of the current recording as well as an interview done yesterday.

Dolores yesterday filmed a segment for the television station RTE (Irish National Television). You’ll recall station created and first aired the “From a Whisper to a Scream” documentary last year (now on DVD in the US). The new special, however, is titled “Ireland’s Greatest Hits” and will showcase the biggest international hit singles from Irish artists. The Cranberries segment will feature “Zombie”. Currently, the program is only scheduled to air in Ireland. Airing dates will be announced at least two weeks in advance.

And now… on to the new that’s on everybody’s mind — the fifth album. As promised, the band entered the studio on Monday. Thus far, the group has recorded backing tracks for four new songs at Dublin’s Windmill Lane Studios.

And lastly, the page has posted a new picture of the band from 1996 taken from the “Free to Decide” tour rehersals in Santa Monica, CA.
