The February issue of the Italian magazine “All Music” has published a new interview with Dolores, done via telephone while she was staying in Rome in December for the Vatican Christmas Concert.

To start the Interview, Dolores answered basic questions about “Stars” (which we’ve all read plenty of times), and then later reiterated her perspective on how the “Best of” marks the end of a period of the band’s evolution, while also marking the beginning of a new one.

Dolores also acknowledged the possibility of future solo side-projects, but assured that any such projects would be radically different from the style of music associated with The Cranberries. She says, “In effect, in that case, I would do something extremely distant from the Cranberries. [Maybe] even create a score for a film. I adore film scores, those warm or stiff atmospheric sounds that build up towards a crecendo. Lately I’ve been listening a lot to soundtracks by Marconi, a composer who does music for film, and… [also] those by David Lynch [Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet]. I’m even listening to a little bit of the pop group Travis right now.”

Visit the Magazines Gallery to check out scans from the interview. We should have a full translation available shortly!

Thanks to Mattia for the scans and info!
