The Cranberries Official Web Site was updated February 26th with some important announcements regarding the band’s current state of affairs. Most newsworthy, The Cranberries announce that new material will be recorded this week in London with hit producer, Stephen Street (‘Everybody Else…’, ‘No Need To Argue’, ‘Wake Up And Smell The Coffee’). The band is planning to use this new material to finalize distribution arrangements for the forthcoming album, and announce that one of these new songs may be included in an upcoming film or television production. Concertgoers may also be able to hear some of the new material prior to its release during The Cranberries tour with the Rolling Stones.
Also, The Cranberries are still interested in discovering the origin of a mysterious “Salvation” remix. Dolores first caught wind of the version while watching a UK-based “reality” television program on Sky Digital Satellite at her home in Ireland. Now, the Official Site has been anonymously tipped with an .MP3 of what may be the song, available for download. If you’ve ever wondered what a metal version of “Salvation” might sound like, this is your chance to find out!
European fans awaiting the confirmation of additional dates will be pleased to know that the Official Site plans to post confirmation for a show in Belfast as well as one or two “warm-up” performances.
And finally, The Cranberries are seeking input from fans regarding styles and colors of upcoming T-shirt merchandise. Providing modeled pictures of each style, the Official Site is hosting a survey in which fans can e-mail their preferences.
