We have breaking news today that The Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan has recorded and contributed a new song entitled “Angels Go to Heaven” to the upcoming Italian horror movie EvilEnko. The song was written by Dolores and Angelo Badalamenti, composer of the soundtracks for Blue Velvet and Mullholland Drive. The movie, written by breakthrough director David Grieco, will be released in Italy in just a few days on April 16th.

The movie stars Malcom McDowell of A Clockwork Orange fame. Curiously, McDowell is slated to take the role of Zues in Brian Johnson’s play Helen of Troy, to which Dolores is contributing several songs (and possibly take the role of Helen). We’re betting that McDowell introduced her to this project.

A clip of the song “Angels Go to Heaven” can be heard at the end of the trailer for the new movie. Additionally, you can hear a 45-second clip of the new song by visiting EvilEnko.com. Once the page loads, click the right side of the frontal lobe (labelled “lembo di vita”) of the brain that appears. Dolores’s contribution is also noted on the bottom of the movie’s poster, which reads “The song ‘Angels go to Heaven’ (O’Riordan – Badalamenti) is sung by Dolores O’Riordan.”

Huge thanks to Alisha for this news.
