Starbucks Co ee and Concord Records yesterday announced a non- exclusive agreement to sell “Zucchero & Co.” at over 4,400 Starbucks stores in North America when it releases on July 12, in addition to the normal music retail outlets.

“Zucchero & Co.” was released worldwide in 2004 as “Zu & Co.” and has already sold more than a million copies. The CD contains Zucchero and Dolores O’Riordan’s duet, “Pure Love.”

The partnership could mean big sales for “Zucchero & Co.,” which is being marketed as a jazz album in the US. The last Starbucks partnership was for Ray Charles’s Grammy Award-winning “Genius Loves Company.” Charles’s album went to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in March of this year and has sold over 3 million copies in the US alone — 745,000 of which were sold in Starbucks stores.

Smells like good news brewing.
