Billboard reports that Sanctuary Records will be closing down major operations for its US record label shortly after the release of Dolores O’Riordan’s Are You Listening?

One source told Billboard that for new releases, particularly for Dolores’s album: “It is important to do the right things for albums like those. But then everyone who deals with front-line will be leaving at various times over the new few months.”

UK executives arrived in New York last Thursday to personally deliver the news that major parts of the US branch of the company would be closing on June 30. It appears that Dolores O’Riordan’s album will be one of the last released by the US branch of the company. The company will maintain a back catalog operation in the US.

The closing of the US division of Sanctuary Records is one of a long list of expenses that the company is cutting. Sanctuary Records has lost large portions of its market value in the last 2 years.
