“In The End” – Paris promo day 2

March 29, 2019  |  Comments Off on “In The End” – Paris promo day 2  |  by Webmaster  |  The Cranberries

Yesterday was the second promo day in Paris for the band. No public event this time!
Mike and Noel (without Fergal who was giving an interview to another media, see below) went to radio station RTL2 for “Le Drive RTL2”.

Then, still without Fergal, they talked to TV channel France 24. We haven’t yet found out if this video has been broadcast already or not, we’ll keep fans updated on this as soon as we shed light on this.
The Cranberries posted 6 photos both on their Facebook and Instagram accounts:

On his side, Fergal gave an interview to Nicky Beckett for Rock Art Fashion (rockartfashion.net), according to Nicky’s Instagram account. The interview should be published soon.

UPDATE:

The Cranberries may have recorded another show when they were at RTL2 yesterday. Radio host Stéphanie Renouvin posted this morning on Instagram a photo with Mike and Noel and, according to the hashtags, the show could be “Pop Rock Story”.
Again, we haven’t yet found out if the show was live broadcast or recorded for a later broadcast.

And last, still on Instagram, a photo posted yesterday by Pierre-Edouard Bellanca, who was the band’s interpreter:

The Cranberries also posted 2 photos, different photos, both on their Facebook and Instagram accounts:

A few hours before the broadcast, RTL2 posted an advert on their socials (Facebook, Twitter) to announce the event. It was not the exact same artwork, very close though:

A very rare pic was posted on Instagram by user joanna.cran.pic
This is the class photo of Dolores in Laurel Hill Secondary School in Limerick. Our friends from Cranberries Italia saw the pic in the school when they visited Limerick last year and said it was taken in 1990.
If so, do the math, Dolores was 18 (maybe 19).

A new week of promo: Dublin, Paris

March 27, 2019  |  Comments Off on A new week of promo: Dublin, Paris  |  by Webmaster  |  The Cranberries

The Cranberries are back on their promo tour. It started on Monday 25 in Dublin, on RTÉ Radio 1. No more information has leaked yet.

Today, the band was in Paris and gave interviews to the press, including radio station Europe 1 and TV Channel BFMTV, according to the following pics:

On the evening, they attended a Q&A with lucky winners for YouTubeMusic and Oui FM. 60 or so privileged fans got to listen to 3 new songs (Lost, Illusion, Crazy Heart) in an auditorium located 7 Rue Ballu in Paris.

For obvious reasons, mobile phones, cameras and any other kind of recorders were not allowed, and for now the only images of the event that surfaced were posted on the band’s Facebook as well as Noel and Mike’s Instagram accounts. Let’s note the band was not in the room while the audience was listening to the new songs, they only joined the crowd for the Q&A and answered questions for approximately 30 minutes.

Afterwards, fans were invited to a cold buffet and also had the opportunity to take a picture with the boys in front of a huge “In The End” artwork background. A very nice surprise for sure!

Noel wrote on Instagram, “we will be doing a few more of these in the coming weeks”.
From what we know, London and New York City are on the list.

Different promo posters specially made for the event were hanging on the auditorium walls, a few lucky fans got the chance to leave with some of them (thanks to @indo_matt and @misterdine):

The event was videotaped and should be broadcast in April on YouTube.
Special thanks to Laurent at BMG France.

“Wake Me When It’s Over” out today, March 19th

March 19, 2019  |  6 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

Last week, the Limerick Leader announced that the second single “Wake Me When It’s Over” would be released on March 18th, which turned out not to be exact as the song was not available as expected at midnight that day.

As fans were waiting, a “Coming soon…” teaser was posted on The Cranberries socials (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) in the afternoon Monday 18th, which confirmed that the release was imminent. The (unknown back then) featured quote turned out to be taken from the very first lines of the song:

Later in the day, still Monday, a link from Japan (thanks to Ex-cranfan) revealed more information, including the official release date, March 19th, and the artwork/cover of the single in HQ.

However, as midnight was coming in every part of the world, the song was still not available on digital platforms (but leaked on a Russian website). Fans had to wait another post from the band on their socials (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook) this morning Tuesday 19th, announcing an exclusive first play at midday on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2, exactly like it happened in January for the release of the first single, “All Over Now”.

EDIT – 2:00 pm (UTC)
The Jeremy Vine show is now just over and “Wake Me When It’s Over” appeared on digital platforms… “In The End” didn’t, still looks ready to play though, so it might be coming soon, however there is no information about that for now!

EDIT – 3:15 pm (UTC)
The song is now available on YouTube (both full and edit versions):

“Wake Me When It’s Over” and “In The End” available on Monday

March 16, 2019  |  26 Comments  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

The Cranberries recently revealed in a few interviews (watch Radio Regenbogen video for instance) that the songs “Wake Me When It’s Over” and “In The End” will be released very soon, and “Wake Me When It’s Over” will be the 2nd single.

“Wake Me When It’s Over” will be released next Monday (18 March), as revealed last week by the Limerick Leader, probably starting at midnight on streaming platforms and to download.

However, it seems that the song “In The End” will/could also be released on the same date, as both songs have just appeared today on iTunes/Apple Music and are almost ready to play… and even if not yet working, we can see both durations.

“In The End” pre-release songs on iTunes

Let’s note that just like “The Pressure”, the song “In The End” should be another pre-release track the band wants to share and not a 3rd or 4th single.

“Wake Me When It’s Over” next single to be released on March 18

March 7, 2019  |  Comments Off on “Wake Me When It’s Over” next single to be released on March 18  |  by Axl  |  The Cranberries

The information was revealed by the Limerick Leader, “Wake Me When It’s Over” should be the next single off the album “In The End”. Read their article directly on limerickleader.ie or click image below to access pdf file.

Let’s note that “Wake Me When It’s Over” should be the 2nd single as the song “The Pressure” released on March 1st was not the second single but just a pre-release track the band wanted to share (see the news update that includes Noel’s words about it).

UPDATE – MARCH 1

Dolores O’Riordan inducted in the Limerick Hall Of Fame

February 21, 2019  |  Comments Off on Dolores O’Riordan inducted in the Limerick Hall Of Fame  |  by Axl  |  Dolores O'Riordan

Dolores O’Riordan was inducted in the Limerick Hall Of Fame during the “Limerick Person of the Year 2018” gala award ceremony that was held at the Clayton Hotel in Limerick this afternoon.

The “Limerick Person of the Year 2018” appears to be a different event from the “Limerick’s All Time Great” competition that Dolores O’Riordan won by a massive margin just a few days ago.
This gala award aims at honoring an individual or group of individuals who best exemplified the spirit of Limerick in 2018, so today, Limerick Hurlers were named “Limerick Persons of the Year 2018” and members of the team received the award.

Members of Dolores’ family also took part in the ceremony as details of a new Limerick Hall of Fame that is being established were also announced during the event, with the late Cranberries lead singer being the first inductee. Dolores’ mother Eileen was also presented with a special framed Limerick Leader newspaper article to mark the announcement according to the article posted after the ceremony.

Limerick Leader’s journalist Áine Fitzgerald posted a few photos of the ceremony on Twitter this afternoon, including a pic of the Hurlers with Dolores’ family, giving the song “Dreams” was the anthem of the team:

Tweet #1 – Dolores inducted in the LHOF

Tweet #2 – Limerick Hurlers

Tweet #3 – with Mayor James Collins and Dolores’ family, Eileen, PJ, Sandra O’Riordan

Dolores is an exceptionally worthy winner of Limerick’s All Time Great,” said Eugene Phelan, editor of the Limerick Leader. “She is an iconic figure in world music but never forget her Limerick roots and her love for her native place. We are proud that she has been named the All Time Great after an exceptionally popular series of online polls. All 16 candidates would have made for a worthy winner, but there can only be one!

LISTEN/DOWNLOAD: “5 New Songs” rare CD (2004)

February 3, 2019  |  7 Comments  |  by Axl  |  Dolores O'Riordan

Oldie but goldie!
This is a very rare CD-R containing demo/early versions of songs that would appear on “AYL?”
Some fans might not have heard them all before… and for the others it’s probably been a while!

Let’s note that the demo version of “Without You” never really surfaced before and the title “Apple Of My Life” on this CD-R became “Apple Of My Eye” on the “Are You Listening?” album. [EDIT: Fox Music probably made this CD-R to pass on to various music supervisors. Seems like a title transcribed too fast, just a mistake, as Dolores sings “eye” in this demo.]

Download WAV audio files (and CD scans) on Google Drive or listen to the songs directly on YouTube.
